Ally Iseman - Writer / Actor
About
Originally from the ‘subrural' town of Derwood, Maryland, which is exactly as glamorous as it sounds, Ally is a modern triple threat actor, writer, and co-founder of the digital education and consulting platform Film Launch. She has worked on stage in productions like “Jekyll & Hyde” where she portrayed four different characters with just as many dialects, as well as on screens big and small including shows like American Housewife, Criminal Minds, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Ally wrote and created the gender parity comedy series Flip The Script starring Lake Bell, Amy Landecker, Michaela Watkins, Rob Huebel, Jeff Garlin and others, which became Women In Film's first original content. Her musical short Edge Of Internment - taken from concept to completion in two days - which she co-wrote, produced and starred in, came in 3rd out of hundreds of submissions at the Producers Guild's Make Your Mark Weekend Shorts Competition. Ally's gay divorce comedy Wedlocked, written by American Psycho's Guinevere Turner and starring Shelli Boone, Showtime's Whitney Mixter, and Academy Award nominated, Golden Globe and Spirit Award winning actor Sally Kirkland, toured festivals worldwide, winning multiple awards and securing distribution. |
Maybe There Are Some Small Parts, her original comedy short with Tim Russ, is featured on Elizabeth Banks’ platform WhoHaha.com and she recently completed a new dark comedy, Over My Dead Body.
A strong believer in sending the glass elevator back down, Ally served as one of the 10 inaugural WIF Peer Mentors and is proud to have had the opportunity to speak on numerous panels about gender parity and inclusivity. Ally has a somewhat distracting obsession with corgis and is known for making a mean plant-based mylk. She resides in Santa Monica with the hard-won knowledge that The Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything is 42. |
